Welcome to The ACP Advocate,
We start today by updating you about the brief shutdown of the federal government that occurred earlier this week. Funding is set to run out again on Feb. 8, and there remain several critical health programs that remain unfunded. We'll be advocating with Congress over the next couple of weeks as we approach the next deadline for those things and for them to find a solution for DACA recipients.
In our second article we let you know about what ACP advocacy achieved over the last year. I encourage you to read the article and to check out the infographic we link to at the end for more information about all of the different issues we advocated for.
Finally, we end by letting you know about recent guidance from CMS to the state Medicaid programs about how they can begin to seek waiver that would put into place work requirements for Medicaid recipients. ACP plans to continue to advocate against requirements that would place a heavy burden on beneficiaries.
